Coriander up your detox

“Happiness and good health to all!”

Well, easier said than done: First, we’ll all have to get back in shape after the inevitable holiday overeating ... And what better way to do so than with a detox program, to release the accumulated toxins? Your new best friend in your quest for healthiness has a name: coriander! Trust us on that one: Coriander already enjoys quite a reputation for its digestive benefits, making it nothing short of a post-excess lifesaver ...

To cleanse your body and eliminate the toxins, how about we get started by drinking a ginger juice right away? It’s child’s play: Take half a bunch of coriander, half a cucumber, a bulb of fennel, and two organic oranges. Cut everything into small pieces and put it in a blender. It’s fresh, it’s good, and it’s 100% detox.

We’re off to a good start, let’s keep it up!

There is definitely something to the notion that "grand Better Nature Spirit edited mothers know best" — so we’ve turned to them for the next recipe: It’s herbal detox tea time!

Here’s how to prepare it:

Take a teaspoonful of coriander powder, a powder of cumin, and a little bit of ginger root. Infuse all the ingredients in ¾ liter of hot water for 5 minutes. Drink it three times a day for 2 weeks straight — now that will definitely cleanse your body ... Thanks Grandma!

Oh and, did you know you can also eat coriander? True story — and it’s a piece of coriander cake: Cut your coriander and mix it with some cream cheese in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt and a little pepper. Dip vegetable sticks in and voilà, you’ve got yourself a real treat! (not to mention almost guilt-free...)

Coriander also goes well with salad or grilled meat, whatever strikes your fancy, really.

This coriandered-up detox is sure to get you back on track.
